Blue Sky Stouffville: A sales centre visit and an interview

We recently visited our Blue Sky development in Stouffville and met with sales representative Joe and administrative assistant Anne Marie to get the inside track on the project.

Joe has been working with Fieldgate Homes for over 7 years, and has sold over 1200 Homes during his time with us. We’re told that Phase 3B of BlueSky has as excellent selection of lots left, and they are selling fast.

Located in Central Stouffville at Millard St. & 9th Line, Blue Sky is a few minutes drive from a wide range of ameneities including a newly opened WalMart SuperCentre, the Stouffville Market, leisure centres, a library, two big hockey centres (it’s a big hockey town!) and the Lebovic Centre for Arts and Entertainment.

What kind of purchasers are you seeing at Blue Sky?
Young families mostly, but there is also a lot of business people. Blue Sky is by 2 GO Stations – Lincolnville and Stouffville, and there’s a city bus system right around the corner also, so it’s a great area for people who work downtown but don’t want to live there.

Lot selections in our sales centre

You mentioned that 95% of Fieldgate Homes are made out of brick, why is this important?

We cater more to European design and build different than other builders.

95% of our homes are all brick. A lot of the other builders here build half vinyl half brick, or all vinyl. Overall brick is a stronger and more durable material.

We have a lot of previous owners that come back and purchase Fieldgate Homes – a lot! The workmanship is great, and they have been around for a long time so they have a solid reputation.

And the sales people here are knowledgeable, so that is another reason!

What is the inspection process involved in buying a newly constructed home?

We do a pre-drywall inspection, which we hear a lot of builders don’t do. Right before they put the drywall up they call the purchaser and invite them to do a walk through.

For example, when you have your appointment at the Decor Centre you can designate a certain room as a dining room, get a light fixture in the middle of the ceiling or if you want to turn a bedroom into an office, you can tell the builder to put a plug a certain location.

You will get to see the changes that you have requested when you visit your new home during the drywall inspection.

What are some of the housing features/benefits you can find in a Fieldgate Home?

Right now, we offer a really good bonus package. Sometimes other builders will charge you for the hardwood floors, the cold cellar, gas fire place, extra tall kitchen cabinetry, and taller vinyl casement windows – we don’t.

How close are schools to this community?

There are lots of schools. School buses are going through the development all the time. I think we have 9 schools located close to Blue Sky.

School buses file out of the development as we arrive at the sales centre

Is Blue Sky involved in the Stouffville community at all?

Oh yes. Fieldgate Homes sponsors the Strawberry Festival each year, which is a huge attraction and event in the area. We advertise in the Exploring Whitchurch-Stouffville magazine that is circulated within Stouffville and around the GTA also.

Thanks for Joe and Ann Marie for talking the time to give an insight into the Blue Sky community. For more information call the Blue Sky sales centre at 905-640-0002.
